Growing Alongside Concord: 25 Years with Zeek Tavarez

Twenty-five years at one company gives you a perspective few people have. For Zeek Tavarez, it means watching Concord evolve firsthand while growing alongside the company, from his first days as an Account Representative to his current role as VP of Client Operations.

Through every change, one thing has remained constant: his commitment to the work and the people who make Concord what it is.

A First Week to Remember

Zeek Tavarez's first week at Concord was a pretty good indication of what the next 25 years would look like.

It was November 2000, and the team had hundreds of new sales for a major vacation ownership client waiting to be manually onboarded into the system. Zeek had just arrived as an Account Representative after working at Bank of America, but there was little time to ease into the new role. He jumped in with the team, worked through the backlog, and, by the end of the week, the entire project was finished.

The experience also gave him an early sense of what made Concord different. Coming from a large corporate environment, he noticed almost immediately that the company felt smaller, tighter, and more personal.

“It felt less like a corporation and more like a community,” Zeek says. “I wasn't just joining a company. I was joining a team. And that made all the difference.”

Over the years, the work changed dramatically, as did Zeek's responsibilities, but his approach remained much the same. Showing up, for Zeek, means committing to the work, the people around you, and the opportunity in front of you.

Building a Career, One Role at a Time

Zeek approached each stage of his career with the same mindset, taking the time to learn the role, master the work, and grow into whatever came next.

Over 25 years, that meant moving from Account Representative to Supervisor, then Portfolio Manager, Director, and eventually VP of Client Operations. Each transition brought more responsibility, but the underlying approach stayed the same.

“Looking back, the biggest pivotal moment wasn't any single promotion. It was the decision early on to invest fully in every role I was in rather than always chasing the next one,” he says. “That patience and commitment to mastery is what made each transition feel natural and earned.”

As a Portfolio Manager and Director, Zeek took on a much broader range of responsibilities. He managed client relationships, new implementations, client and staff training, and annual maintenance billing for vacation ownership clients. With fewer specialized departments in place, if it touched a client or an operation, it could land on his desk.

“We've evolved into an organization with specialized departments across all of those areas,” Zeek says. “Watching that growth happen, knowing I played a role in it, makes every hard season worth it.”

Building What Came Next

One of the earliest moments Zeek remembers was the implementation of multi-currency functionality, which allowed Concord to process payments in Mexican pesos for clients in Mexico.

That momentum continued with Concord's expansion into Mexico City. Zeek led the transition of operational work across borders, helping cross-train a new team and introduce them to Concord's processes and clients. Watching that team develop into trusted partners became one of the most rewarding leadership experiences of his career.

“Great talent doesn't have a zip code,” Zeek says.

That opportunity to help build what's next continues today. Zeek has been involved in the rollout of Concord eVault and ConcordLink, from testing the platform to helping onboard new clients. He's now helping shape technology that is changing the way Concord works.

“It's a look at where this company is heading,” he says, “and I'm proud to have had a hand in building that foundation.”

25 Years of Change, One Constant

The technology that now shapes everyday business was still in its early stages when Zeek started at Concord. More than two decades later, he's watching AI reshape how teams work.

Cosmo, Concord’s proprietary AI tool, is one example of that evolution, and it's something Zeek is especially excited about.

“What has my attention most is where technology is taking us. We've already seen what investing in the right tools can do for our team's efficiency and capabilities, and I believe we're just scratching the surface.”

For all that has changed, the people have remained a constant. Zeek has worked alongside colleagues who challenged his thinking, held him accountable, and reminded him what it means to be part of a team. Some have moved on, but the relationships built through shared work, wins, and struggles have stayed with him.

“Technology will keep changing. What we're building will keep evolving. But the heart of this company has stayed the same, and that's what makes 25 years feel like time well spent.”

Still Looking Ahead

Today, Zeek's focus is on putting that technology to work. “I'm committed to making sure we're using every resource available to work smarter, serve our clients better, and free our people up to focus on what matters most,” Zeek says.

He's also watching the evolution of financial services, vacation ownership, and fintech, where he sees industries converging and creating new opportunities for Concord.

“The way I see it, the foundation we've built over 25 years positions us perfectly to take advantage of what's coming. We have the culture, the talent, and now the technology to do something really special.”

The Person Behind the VP

Give Zeek a recipe, and he'll probably change it. He likes reinventing classics and adding a spicy twist. The kitchen is his creative outlet, where he can experiment, take risks, and have a little fun. Traveling and trying new cuisines only adds to the inspiration.

That same instinct extends to the people closest to him. “My family and my dog are everything to me,” he says. “I will always go above and beyond for them.”

“I think that's the thread that runs through everything for me. Whether it's a client, a colleague, or the people I love most, I show up fully. That's just who I am.”

Trust the Process

If Zeek could give one piece of advice to someone starting their career at Concord today, it would be simple: trust the process.

“Every role I held taught me something the previous one couldn't,” Zeek says. “I wouldn't trade a single step of that journey.”

“Concord is a place where hard work is seen and rewarded,” he says. “If you come in every day with the right attitude, invest genuinely in your work and your colleagues, and give yourself the grace to grow at the pace the journey requires, good things will come.”

“Trust the process. It worked for me,” Zeek says.
